NFL SUPPORTS children with autism

Saturday, July 11, 2009

TIJUANA. Athletes for Education Foundation of the NFL provides significant support for the local association; Alumbra Pro Niños con Autismo, with the completion of the Camp "Tra Battle," which will take place this Saturday from 9:00 pm.

Yesterday, the Center for High Performance (CAR) served as an appropriate setting for a meeting of non-profit organizations, political figures, athletes, educators as well as current and former athletes from the National Football League.

The event was led by Governor Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millan and members of the nonprofit group "Athletes for Education and served not only to promote the camp-clinic which will take place this Saturday at the CREA stadium, but also laid the basis for cooperative agreements with associations such as "Alumbra", which benefits parents and children with autism.

The project was presented at the esplanade of the CAR with large expectations, as it has the support and assistance of professionals in the sport of tackles, some active and others retired, with experience in community work not only in the USA.

Several of them have collaborated on initiatives of this nature south of the border and contributed their bit in the past. This is why, at the side of the head of state was the president and founder of Athletes for Education, Steven Haynes, as well as the agency's vice president and player of the Detroit Lions, Tra Battle.

In honor of the latter, the camp that starts this Saturday at the CREA field will be known as "Camp Battle", and will take place with the help of the entire association.

In his message, Osuna Millán emphasized the importance of this event, which builds a bridge of support and communication between two neighbors California and Baja California, who are joined together by a noble cause.

As part of this event, there was also a symbolic gesture of support for the Student Organization of American Football, which in this case consisted of uniforms.
